Below is a list of Frequently Asked Questions that we receive from many clients. Hopefully these questions and answers will clear up any confusion you may have. Although we try to address all of our clients concerns, sometimes people have unique questions of their own. If you find you are one of these people, then please feel free to contact us and we will answer your questions for you quickly and efficiently. Most emails are answered the day they are received.

 

Q. Are you able to build all types of sites?

A. Just like anything in life, there are limits to what people can do. If what you are looking for is not within our ability, we will be honest and inform you immediately, and recommend a course of action for you to take. For example, We do not have the resources to build a site as intensive as Yahoo, it would be too much of a drain on our resources and not fair to our other clients.

 

Q. Do you design Adult Sites?

A. Pain and simply, No. We aren't prudes, but we do have children and like to feel pride in what we create.

 

Q. Who owns the site when it is done?

A. You do, we only own the copyright to the code we use, once the site is completed then it belongs to you (this includes your domain name which will be registered in your name, this is not always the case with other designers).

 

Q. How long does it take you to build a website?

A. Depends on the size, but something comparable in size to this site could be completed in a 3-4 days, that means your website would be up and running in days, not months or weeks.

 

Q. Why should I choose you to make my website as apposed to a large company?

A. There are several reasons, firstly there is cost, we have low overheads and can pass these savings onto you, secondly we actually care about you and your business, we want your websites to succeed. When you succeed, we benefit as it gives us a higher profile and more referrals are generated. Thirdly we are here when you need us, not just 9-5 Monday to Friday, you can call us at anytime (well within reason!) for a chat or have a question answered.

 

Q. What is Web Hosting, and do you offer this service? 

A. Your site must be "hosted", meaning it needs a place to live somewhere on a web server. Although we do not offer hosting, we can recommend some good companies who do. Some companies specialize in hosting web sites, and do not offer dial up services. Others offer both services.  

 

Q. How much space will I need for my site?

A. Most Internet Providers (ISP's) include 1-2 megabytes of space with your basic dial-up account. This is enough space for your site if your site is going to be mostly text. Once you add images, your space will be used much more quickly.  

 

Q. Does it really matter where I have my site hosted?

A. Some providers who do nothing but host web sites claim your site will download faster, because all of their bandwidth is reserved for hosting. These providers typically offer more value per dollar when it comes to disk space and other services. The truth is you can have your site hosted anywhere you like, but you still need a "dial-up" account with a local Internet Service Provider (meaning a local dial up number) to be able to access the internet from home. In our area there are only a few "dial up" Internet Service Providers to pick from, charging from around $20.00/month for a basic account.

 

Q. What do you recommend?

A. We recommend that you go with a local Internet Service Provider for your basic internet service.  

We also recommend that you have your site "hosted" at a larger provider (one that specializes in hosting), because they usually offer more web space at lower prices, and a greater variety of services (with no set up or connection fees) and faster download times for your visitors.
